Post-Cleanse or Post-Detox Guidelines for Solid Food Re-introduction
Breaking Your Fast
  • Best foods: banana, avocado, organic veggie soup
  • Next morning: dairy-free smoothie
  • Ease into eating whole foods again gradually - breaking your fast with a huge meal, refined sugar, red meat, or fried foods not only counter-acts all of your awesome efforts while cleansing, it will seriously stress your now super clean digestive system
  • Keep your meals small, incorporate easy to digest solids with liquid nutrition and gradually increase your consumption of solid foods.
  • Have a plan in place - know exactly what you’re going to eat in the days following your fast
  • 1-2 days post: raw vegetables & fruit with high water content, apple, pear, vegetable soup, green salad, avocado, banana
Day 1
  1. Breakfast: Fresh fruit or raw veggie salad 
  2. Lunch: Fruit/Vegetable smoothie
  3. Dinner: Steamed vegetables, raw vegetable salad (dressing: flax oil or olive oil with lemon)
Day 2
  1. Breakfast: Fruit salad, smoothie or vegetable juice
  2. Lunch: Raw salad, one type of steamed vegetable. (Try some goat cheese with it!) 
  3. Dinner: Raw salad, steamed vegetables, small amount of starch such as whole grains (brown rice or quinoa) or sweet potato.
Day 3
Stick to anything listed above, plus the pre-cleanse or pre-detox diet
  • Add protein only after your first bowel movement - good choices: hummus, beans, nuts (if you’re not allergic), nut butters, white fish, eggs
  • If you choose to re-introduce meat and dairy products, take it slow - white fish and goat’s milk products are great products to start with in the beginning
  • Look at this moment as an opportunity, a ‘clean slate’, instead of reversing your progress with unhealthy, processed food choices, enjoy real food and be proud knowing that you are treating your body well, and providing it with quality nutrition 
After Your Cleanse or Detox
  • We encourage you to continue to incorporate juicing into your lifestyle on a regular basis
  • Build on the new foundation of health you created through fasting
  • With confidence, experience, and depending on your overall health, you can do longer fasts. Fasts of about a week are ideal for a periodic cleanse or detox (at least seasonally)
Life After Your Cleanse or Detox
  • We encourage you to build on your new foundation of health you created through fasting, and to maintain juicing as part of your regular lifestyle
  • Some people go on to add weekly juice fasting for 24 hours (1 day/week) as part of their regular health maintenance, some people incorporate juice into their daily routine as part of a healthy eating lifestyle
  • Take advantage of this opportunity to refresh your whole outlook on healthy eating and living well
