During Your Cleanse or Detox
  • Stick to the mean plan provided to you
  • Drink 6 8 glasses of alkaline or spring water (with lemon) a day, consuming your juice or one hour after
  • Exercise - your skin can be an elimination pathway, clearing waste out through sweat
  • Bathe - keep your skin clean as toxins are released
  • Do not gulp your juice and take regular breaks between sips
  • Chew your juice (what?!) Digestion begins in the mouth, and the act of chewing your food signals the release of digestive enzymes
  • Your digestive enzymes, with the enzymes found naturally in the raw foods, help digest the food fully so there is the most nutrition available for your body to absorb
  • Using a chewing motion when consuming your juice encourages your digestive enzymes to start their work
  • Consuming your juice should take 30 - 60 minutes remember it is your meal, not just a drink
  • Rest is key when you’re cleansing - aim for at least 7 hours each night to support your body’s own eliminating and healing processes
  • We hear it all the time - What if I get hungry? I cannot EAT for that long! Many people will discover that any initial feelings of hunger often subside by the third day
  • A glass of water can often help quiet a growling stomach

Experiencing a few of these symptoms can occur during a cleanse, we call it a healing crisis as your body releases and eliminates any undesirable toxins in your system. If you’re really uncomfortable, try blending ½ a banana or apple into one of your juices to slow the detox process. If you’re experiencing a lot of these symptoms, and/or are extremely uncomfortable, consider breaking your fast with fruit first, and contact your doctor.
